Beginning Adult Drawing Class
Saturday, June: 7, 14, 21, 28, from 10:00am-1:00pm
Tuition: $260
In this class, students will learn how to use charcoal and pencil in drawing. Elements of design will be applied- line, value, space, proportions and composition. Students will learn how to draw from general to detail, from linear to shading, how to measure proportions, how to create the illusion of depth and perspective, to draw different textures and patterns, fabric and drapery.
Materials: Vine or willow charcoal sticks ( a bunch ), pencils B4, B6, B8, sharpener, kneaded eraser, plastic eraser, smudging tool, large drawing and sketching pads size 18”x24”, small sketchbook, drawing board , or a large wooden fiberboard and 4 wide binder clips to attach a piece of paper for drawing.

- Making marks with charcoal and pencil. Drawing a sphere.
- Drawing a single object using shading with a pencil, measuring and finding the right proportions
- Linear perspective-one, two and three points
- Drawing geometric objects with a pencil
- Drawing using charcoal a group of objects and learning how to align all elements of a composition.
- Drawing drapery using charcoal.
